What is Consecration?

Setting Yourself Aside For God

Consecration is about items set apart as holy for the purpose of worshiping God. It is also used to describe the setting apart of the priests, who are to be consecrated to the Lord. However, for Christians, consecration is not optional, since we are all priests for God.

Jesus and Consecration

Jesus proclaimed the doctrine of consecration throughout His ministry. All that we own and all our relationships are to be consecrated to God so that they do not become idols in our lives. No thing or person is to be held above our relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus cannot be your Savior if you don’t make Him Lord of your life.  Meaning, Jesus comes first in all things even our social media can become a god if we setup individual worship centers to ourselves.  Be careful not to make anything in your life more important or dear in your heart than God.  He will accept nothing less.

The Need To Consecrate Yourself

Consecration is the act of setting yourself apart from the world to become dedicated as an instrument of righteousness for the purposes of God. True Christianity is a radical commitment to Jesus Christ, not just going to church on Sunday. It’s not enough to be willing to do Christian work, but the heart of consecration is devotion to the divine will of God. Not my will.  Not my way of thinking.  God’s Word must be obeyed, completely.  Nothing is to be left out.  If you desire to become a man or woman of God, consecrating yourself to Him, then you will reap the rewards of entering into His wonderful, Marvelous Light!

How To Prepare For Consecration.

Friday, January 5, 2024 at 7:00 PM
Foot Washing Ceremony, Anointing and “The Purpose” Service.

  • Jesus washed the feet of His disciples to show them what true love and service requires: Humility.
  • Six areas will be set up to wash the feet of all who desire to share in this spiritual occasion.
  • Those who’s feet are cleansed by the love and compassion of their fellow co-laborers, will then bless others as we offer our service and praise unto the Lord.

Each person will be anointed with consecrated oil upon seven areas of their body. This sacramental act will be administered by the Ordained Clergy and Diaconate. The areas of anointing are as follows:

    • To Understand God’s Will for your life.
    • To Hear God’s Voice of commandment and comfort.
    • To See God’s Power working in every situation of life.
    • To Speak God’s Word with boldness and wisdom.
    • To Stand in God’s Armor against the wiles of the devil.
    • To Birth New Ministry concepts and ideas
    • To Walk in God’s Love and allow Him to order your steps.

  • We also ask that you remove your shoes. The ground on which we stand is Holy Ground.
  • Please wear white socks.
  • Once you arrive upon Church grounds we ask that you turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices.
  • There is to be NO TALKING on the outer courts of the sanctuary. Please respect the Holy Ground.
  • Some will be walking around the Church praying silently. You may join them, and speak to the Lord from your heart and in complete silence and reverence.
  • All who desire to be baptized or re-baptized should submit their request via the button below by December 24, 2023.

Please bring the following items:

  • White clothing to be baptized in.
  • Two towels to dry off with while changing (preferably white).
  • Swim cap for the ladies to keep your hair dry.
  • Change of clothing (white) to wear during the remainder of the Consecration Service.

  • A special Communion Meal will be provided.
  • Tables will be set throughout the sanctuary so that we may sit twelve to a table.

  • Hard boiled egg – symbol of the suffering and oppression in Egypt. Everything else in boiling water becomes soft or disintegrates. But an egg becomes hard, like the Israelites. The more it is boiled, the harder it becomes. An egg also symbolizes New Life.
  • Roasted shankbone of lamb – reminds them there had to be blood sacrificed to save their lives.
  • Bitter herbs – horseradish – reminds them they were servants to slavery.
  • Greens – parsley, celery – symbol of coming of Spring which brings hope.
  • Salt water – reminds them of the tears they cried in Egypt.
  • Haroset – nut, apple, cinnamon, wine mixture which has the appearance of straw in remembrance of the mortar used to build the Treasure Cities for Pharaoh. It is symbolic of the hope of freedom that enabled their ancestors to withstand the bitterness of slavery.
  • Matzah – the unleavened bread that reminds them of the haste with which they left Egypt.

  • The service will begin with Corporate Worship Music.
  • Sacred Worship Music will be played throughout the entire service.

If you plan to worship from home, the Authentic Communion Meal consists of the following ingredients.

Items needed for the communion meal

  • Lamb
  • Unleavened bread (see recipe below)
  • Bitter herbs (mixed greens)
  • Salt water
  • Wine
  • Boiled egg
  • Haroset -use crunchy granola

Bitter herbs dressing:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 Red wine vinegar
  • Parsley
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Tarragon

Salt/Pepper to taste Mix well and pour over mixed greens

Recipe for unleavened bread

  • 1 c. flour
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 – 2 1/2 tbsp. milk

Sift flour, sugar and salt together. Cut in shortening using two knives. Add a little bit of milk at a time, and only enough to form into a dough. Roll dough (using a floured or silicone rolling pin) to 1/4 inch thick. A silicone pastry rolling mat, such as a Silpat will help keep the dough from sticking to the board without the need to add too much flour. Cut into 1/2 inch squares. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until done
