”Title: “The BLOCKED Shot”
When I got home last night from teaching the Minister’s Training Class, I put on my night
clothes, fixed a cup of coffee, sat in my recliner, picked up the remote control and turned
on the television. I wanted to watch the basketball game not because my favorite team was
playing, but just because I enjoy the sport. It was almost half-time and a few minutes
before time expired, one of the players was about to dunk the ball into the rim for two
points. He had great momentum as he elevated into the air and it clearly appears that he
was about to put down a two-hand dunk. That’s what it looked like until an opposing
player jumped up in front of him and BLOCKED it!
That’s when I began to think about all of the times the enemy was driving on me with a
force and determination to disrupt my dreams and dismantle my life. Jesus told us the
devil’s desire is to steal, kill and destroy us by any means necessary and whatever evil he
can bring our way, he’ll do it without out a second thought. He’s on his game and works
hard to bring down even the best of us, but what he doesn’t seem to realize is that he’s not
able to get to the rim of destruction because every time he advances…God blocks it!
The bible says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue
that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the
servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” We don’t have to
take on every battle as if we are out here on our own, because our God is always there to
protect us as we stay in His will. He will never leave or forsake us and knowing that He’s
present should motivate us greatly to obey and trust Him.
Today, without a doubt, the enemy will come after you with a vengeance because he
knows how valuable you are to God and the advancement of the kingdom. He deceived
Eve in the garden; weakened David in the palace; caused fear to overtake Peter amongst
the crowd; and filled the heart of Judas to sell out Jesus. He’s going to come after those
who have committed their ways unto the Lord and who will not return to a lifestyle
unpleasing to God. The more you serve the Lord with your mind, heart, and soul the more
He’ll direct you towards prosperity and protect you from the devil’s attack.
Stand your ground today and be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Do all in
your power to defeat that lowdown devil. Remember that you are kept by the mighty hand
of the Lord and every time he thinks he’s elevated above you to destroy you, tell him to
look again because…God BLOCKED it!
EVERYTHING WE DO MOVING FORWARD WILL BE INTENTIONAL AND DRIVEN WITH
PURPOSE TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT!
NOTHING WILL BE DONE WITH ENERGY LESS THAN OUR BEST AND EFFORT BELOW
OUR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.
OUR SERVICE IS LOCAL, BUT OUR REACH IS GLOBAL – SO WE CANNOT REDUCE OUR
PRESENTATION DOWN TO WHAT’S CONVENIENT, BUT RATHER WE MUST RAISE IT TO
THAT WHICH IS EXPLOSIVE!
Get ready for major change that’s coming systematically, intellectually, purposefully, and
professionally. Nothing we do moving forward will be done haphazardly, sloppily, poorly,
or carnally.
