Title: “The FREEDOM”
Yesterday we (United States Citizens) celebrated our independence as a country and were
reminded of the sacrifices made to become a great and prosperous land. Great does not
mean that we haven’t been tremendously flawed along the way, but rather it suggest that
through our failures and wrong doings, we kept fighting for and acquiring a better way of
life and prosperity. Please note, there is not only room for improvement, but in many
communities, there’s a need for it. We have to keep demanding equality for everyone
across the board and if we do that, we’ll remain on a solid path of liberty and justice for
all.
I love my country and am very proud to be a native of this land, but there’s a freedom I
received from the Lord that usurps this every time. In this country, men died on the
battlefield, marched in the street, and endured unjust incarceration for our freedom. We
should always be grateful for what strangers did for us and speak with pride about the land
we call home. Their service and endurance is commendable and unforgettable, but yet still
it cannot compare to the sacrifice made on Calvary’s hill for our souls. The level of love
displayed on that day of Christ’ crucifixion provided not only liberty for U.S. citizens, but
for every man, woman, boy and girl on the planet who had a debt they could not pay.
The hymnologist says, “I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore. Very deeply
stained within, sinking to rise no more. But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing
cry. From the waters lifted me, now safe am I… Love lifted me!” This song so eloquently
describes the condition of humanity before Jesus made the decision to become the
sacrificial lamb. He intentionally exchanged a deity of perfection for a body of flesh and
then allowed ruthless and barbarous men to beat, drag, and nail His fragile frame to a
rugged cross. His pain became our peace and His willingness to give up the ghost resulted
in our invitation to His Father’s kingdom.
You should really pause today and think hard about what you should do with the freedom
you’ve been given. Consider the affect your next decision will have on the heart of God
and how He’ll feel. He sent to us His only Son and allowed Him to endure the shame of
the cross because of the way He felt about you and I. The love of God is greater than our
ability to explain and describe it, and when we purposefully walk into sin and wrong
doing, we make a mockery of His plan of redemption.
Today we are FREE to walk in the power of the Holy Ghost and live life to the full and in
abundance. We have immediate access to the throne of God and it’s only what we do for
Christ that will last. I challenge you today to let your light shine and show the world that
you are bigger than any temptation of the devil. Remember, you’re here to be great, so go and
walk strong in the grace and glory that He’s provided. Thank you Lord… We’re FREE!
EVERYTHING WE DO MOVING FORWARD WILL BE INTENTIONAL AND DRIVEN WITH
PURPOSE TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT!
NOTHING WILL BE DONE WITH ENERGY LESS THAN OUR BEST AND EFFORT BELOW
OUR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.
OUR SERVICE IS LOCAL, BUT OUR REACH IS GLOBAL – SO WE CANNOT REDUCE OUR
PRESENTATION DOWN TO WHAT’S CONVENIENT, BUT RATHER WE MUST RAISE IT TO
THAT WHICH IS EXPLOSIVE!
Get ready for major change that’s coming systematically, intellectually, purposefully, and
professionally. Nothing we do moving forward will be done haphazardly, sloppily, poorly,
or carnally.
We Are the LIGHT!
Sincerely,
Pastor J.E. Chandler, Sr.
