Title: “Bring SOMETHING 2 the Table”

Tomorrow I’m scheduled to be apart of a think-tank group whose purpose is to
create a better, more efficient and effective approach to shaping impactful leaders in
today’s society. Lately I’ve been hearing the various media outlets report that there’s a
desperate need for a strong leader to arise with a plan and strategy of creating unity in the
the wide spread divided communities. It’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that we as a country
are truly divided along political, racial, social, economical, and spiritual lines, but I’m not
sure if the need is for a single leader to emerge as much as it is a need for multiple citizens
to take ownership of what they’ve already been given and lead in their respective arenas.

When Jesus declared the Great Commission, His directive was not given to one
man. When He said the words, “Go ye therefore into all the world and teach men…”, He
was placing that responsibility of change and enhancement upon all of us who were and
are believers. The challenge to turn wrongs into rights does not have to be a large
undertaking, but rather it must be a long and dedicated effort. It requires that each man
examine the motives in his own heart and his personal desire to follow a standard of
righteousness greater than his own. It begins with each man complying with the command
of a Just God before he marches, protests, and demands justice from others.

I can’t force a man to see me differently if I don’t first see that man in the eyes of
God. His hate for me cannot override or influence my love for him as God’s creation and
if the Lord still feels there’s opportunity for the hater to change, then I must accept the
Lord’s decision concerning that man. Christ had all right to be disgusted and angry with
those who illegally arrested Him, falsely accused Him, viciously beat Him, and inhumanly
crucified Him. He could have called for the wrath of heaven to come down and descend
demonstratively on His enemies, but He also knew that His coming to save mankind
included the very ones who set in motion a plan to destroy Him. That’s why He said,
“Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

I know that one of the items on tomorrow’s agenda will be centered around
creating and implementing a plan to genuinely see hardened hearts changed and
retaliations dismissed. I know that I cannot come to the meeting to simply watch and hear
what others have to say about the problems we face, but my job is to show up with a
platform that can ultimately guarantee renewed love and respect for all persons. You see,
you and I, better than anyone, know the life changing affect that agape love and
forgiveness had on us and how it forever put us in line for eternal joy and rest. Now we
must move forward in making sure that those who we have contact with on a regular
basis, understand our commitment to making things better for everyone. It’s time to step
up and get to work on healing a nation. It’s not just the elected officials job, it’s our job as
well. Let’s not just talk about it, let’s be about it! It’s time to Bring SOMETHING 2 the
Table!!

EVERYTHING WE DO MOVING FORWARD WILL BE INTENTIONAL AND DRIVEN WITH
PURPOSE TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT!
NOTHING WILL BE DONE WITH ENERGY LESS THAN OUR BEST AND EFFORT BELOW
OUR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.

OUR SERVICE IS LOCAL, BUT OUR REACH IS GLOBAL – SO WE CANNOT REDUCE OUR
PRESENTATION DOWN TO WHAT’S CONVENIENT, BUT RATHER WE MUST RAISE IT TO
THAT WHICH IS EXPLOSIVE!

Get ready for major change that’s coming systematically, intellectually, purposefully, and
professionally. Nothing we do moving forward will be done haphazardly, sloppily, poorly,
or carnally.

We Are the LIGHT!

Sincerely,

Pastor J.E. Chandler, Sr.
